VREO Innovation Ltd is an electronics design consultancy with a wealth of experience across multiple sectors including medical, industrial and scientific industries. VREO Ltd was originally started in 2013 by founder Mark Vernon. In 2015, VREO Innovation Ltd was formed when VC funding was received to support VREOs own product lines of USB3 video interface products. VREO successfully sold 1000s of these products across 19 countries with product also sold to NASA and installed on the international space station.

VREO Innovation Ltd for several years produced all of its products in house with its own surface mount production line before focusing purely on design, giving a unique insight into the production of high density PCBs. We feel that, distinct from many design companies we also have the production experience in house which we leverage into our designs resulting in higher quality products.

VREO has supported many companies in bringing their ideas and concepts to manufacturable products. We work closely with industrial design houses and production partners and can provide an end to end solution. We can develop both electronics hardware and embedded software and use the latest Altium Designer CAD software that allows working closely with 3D mechanical CAD.

VREO Innovation Ltd has designed novel products for IOT, gas sensing, imaging systems, camera interfaces, lighting, solar power battery charging and industrial control. Clients have included FLIR, SMD and many others.

Recently VREO has been part of a European Consortium for a Horizon 2020 project that has developed an Augmented Reality visor for surgical procedures. The consortium is called VOSTARs and we have successfully completed a world first surgical incision guided by augmented reality.

The founder Mark Vernon has 30 years of professional experience designing electronics and leading multi disciplinary and multi national teams and takes an active lead in all projects. Before starting VREO he worked for multi national companies such as Kidde Fire protection, ExtremeCCTV, Bosch and QFree. He has one both design and innovation awards for his work. VREO Innovation Ltd was also awarded ‘North East Start Up of the Year’ in 2015.
